“L’excellence is a classic residential beachfront building located on famous Millionaire’s Row on Collins Ave. in Miami Beach. Constructed in 1991, the building’s interiors reflect the style of that era with dark, outdated marbles, stained old carpets, bad lighting, poor layouts, and inefficient programming.
Our studio was retained to refresh all interior spaces, including the lobby, reception area, elevator foyers, mailroom, administration offices, party rooms, gym, theater, and playroom. The concept was simple: to use lighter natural stone and wood in a contemporary way, incorporating well-thought-out details, lighting, and a more efficient layout suitable for the perfect city/beach life.
Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by a 9-feet entrance that leads to a rising 24-feet ceiling lobby area with a front desk. The front desk features a free-form structure cantilevering on one end, complemented by a backdrop of wood slats.
This material treatment and design carry throughout the common areas. Recreational spaces were designed to be more modern and playful, with the use of vibrant colors and patterns, along with warmer furniture, creating a boutique hotel ambiance.”
