PALMETTO BAY

Inverted roof

We were approached by a wonderful family seeking to design their new home in Palmetto Bay, an emerging and family-friendly suburb located in the southern part of the Miami Metro area. During our initial meeting, they provided us with a rough layout and a program outlining their specific needs and desires.

While the original vision leaned towards a more traditional home, we proposed an entirely different approach that sparked a significant transformation in the design. The new concept embraced an asymmetrical contemporary façade characterized by striking windows, artfully slatted portions, and a magnificent interior courtyard adorned with lush, towering trees. Adding a distinctive touch, we introduced an inverted-pitch roof cover as a key architectural element.

The program dictated the inclusion of two master suites and two guest bedrooms, as well as an open concept living, dining, and kitchen area that seamlessly connected to the central courtyard and the inviting pool area at the rear of the property. This thoughtful layout allowed natural light to cascade into the heart of the home, filling the central spaces with a warm and welcoming glow. Positioned on the rear corners, the two master suites provided privacy and tranquility, while the two guest bedrooms and the convenient 2-car garage graced the front of the residence. Additionally, we incorporated an office space to accommodate the growing trend of working from home, as well as a spacious family room, a generously sized laundry area, and a tastefully designed powder room.

In the pursuit of a harmonious blend between the architectural style and the surrounding environment, we placed great emphasis on the use of natural and industrial materials in both the exterior facades and the interior spaces. This deliberate choice added depth, texture, and a sense of timeless elegance to the overall design, enhancing the visual appeal and creating a cohesive aesthetic experience throughout the home.
