The renovation of this 1965 ranch-style home involved the integration of two separate structures situated on a spacious 15,000 square foot lot, effectively transforming them into a unified and cohesive single residence.
Before the renovation, the house had remained untouched since the 1960s, save for a few peculiar additions such as an exterior sunken tub, green accents, a pool mosquito net, and an arched brick structure on the façade. Needless to say, all of these elements have been completely removed, paving the way for a fresh and modern transformation.
The renovation process began with a complete gutting of the house, stripping it down to its bare bones—concrete floors, wood-truss structure, and concrete block walls. A new and thoughtfully crafted layout was then designed, resulting in a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home with additional spaces such as a den and an office. The heart of the home features an open concept design that seamlessly integrates the kitchen, living, and dining areas, effortlessly flowing into the inviting pool and covered patio spaces. The master suite, formerly an accessory structure at the rear, has now been connected to the main house through a well-appointed hallway.
While the exterior maintains the simple ranch-style shape, a modern twist has been introduced through the strategic use of contemporary materials. Exposed polished concrete walls, expansive impact sliding doors and windows, sleek charcoal flat concrete roof tiles, and eye-catching iIPE wood window accent frames are just a few of the elements that lend a touch of sophistication and elegance to the home’s exterior.
Inside, the interior has been enhanced with a modern Scavolini kitchen, ideal for hosting and entertaining.
